Active School Flag 2017 - Dromtrasna National School

Dromtrasna National School

We were awarded our Active School Flag in May 2017. A big thank you to our Active School Committee and to Ms Galvin for co-ordinating our application.
As part of this process the children participated in a variety of activities such as; dancing, running, Zumba and whole school workouts on Fitness Fridays. Activities were extended to include other events such as playground games and circuit training. This innovative programme highlights the importance of being active both at school and at home.
The Active School Flag is a Department of Education and Skills initiative which recognises schools that strive to achieve a physically educated and physically active school community, by awarding them with the Active School Flag.
