Let's take a trip down memory lane ...

Special message from Bishop Leahy to 6th Class

Message from Bishop Leahy

Memories and well wishes ...

My favourite memories were the school tours in Castlegregory and our Confirmation party.  Thank you for a great time in primary school. We will miss you all very much
Chloe Harnett, 6th Class

What’s my favourite memory of Dromtrasna, well that’s a hard question. There are so many small things that I remember when I look back on primary school. Like Norma giving us sweets, saying goodbye to Tim at home time, having Tommy Moloney on a Friday, and always looking forward to Halloween, Easter, Christmas and Summer parties (especially dressing up for Halloween!) I will remember the anticipation while waiting in the corridor before the Christmas show. I will remember the suspense and excitement we felt when finding out where we were going for our school tour. And finally, I will remember all the wonderful teachers and friends I have met and those memories will stay with me forever.
Katie O’Connor, 6th Class

Hi Everyone,

 Jack & Juliette O Connor

I really enjoyed my time in Dromtrasna school, where I have made life long friends. My favourite memory from this year was when we got to do the one good idea competition. We worked so hard and had the best fun doing it. From playing Mary in the Christmas concert to school tours, fitness Fridays and sports days. I have so many lovely memories I will cherish forever. I was so sad that lockdown stopped us from spending our last few weeks together. But please god we'll all see each other again soon. Thanks to all the teachers, classmates and everyone in the school for my wonderful time in Dromtrasna national school, I will miss you all. Aisling O'connor 6th class X

I miss ye all loads. My favourite memory of school in Dromtrasna is not one particular day or one particular event. It happened a lot, but since lockdown and no school, I appreciated it so much more and would love to have those days back… My favourite memory is seeing all my friends at school, giving each other hugs, and welcoming each other back to school after being off sick, or gone to appointments and Ms Downes greeting us all at the door as we arrived to school in the morning and always gave me a hug.  It made me feel welcome and a great way to start my day and I will always remember Mrs Downes calling me her scallywag!

A special thank you to Edel O'Rourke for always being so kind to us. We will always remember your lovely smile. Best wishes to  all 6th class.

I really enjoyed my time on Dromtrasna. I have loads of lovely memories from my first day to my last. From pancakes on Pancake Tuesday, to being a pirate to a prom queen, to a dead chef at Halloween. We had amazing school tours, my favourite being Castlegregory. I was also on the active school committee which I loved. We did cookery in fifth class which was great fun and wrote our own cookbook in 6th class. I still laugh at the different things that happened in class and in the playground. I will treasure my school memories of Dromtrasna forever,
King regards
Edel.

My best memory from Dromtrasna N.S is my confirmation day.
I would never have thought that a few weeks later we would be in lockdown .That day was amazing ,the mass was so special and I was delighted that I got to do the First Reading and share that time with all of my friends and family .The disco in the evening was so exciting and we made lots of memories. The day from start to finish was unbelievable and I will never forget it
That is only one of the amazing memories that I have in Dromtrasna, it is a brilliant school and I wouldn’t have changed anything in my whole experience. I got so many amazing opportunities and I have made lifelong best friends .I am so sad that it has to end like this and I will miss everyone in Dromtrasna from my fellow pupils ,to the teachers to the secretary’s Diane (and Norma ) and of course our caretaker Tim . We were like one big happy family.
I truly enjoyed every second in Dromtrasna and I will miss it so much.
Thank you to everyone in
Dromtrasna.
Blaithin 6th class

My Favourite memory is when David Clifford came to school and showed us his All Star, in fifth class. We all got a chance to hold the trophy and take a picture with him. Now he is the Kerry football captail “Whoohoo!”
